Ugandan Players Abroad: Mukiibi on target for Ostersunds, Opondo puts up massive show in Denmark as Moses Oloya’s wins Vietnam premier league

Ugandan players in the diaspora continued representing the Pearl of Africa over the weekend at their respective clubs, our reporter Ronnie Lusulire as usual followed them up to find out how they fared.

In Denmark in the top flight, youthful midfielder Moses Opondo played full time as his Vendyssel side defeated giants FC Copenhagen 2-1.

Still in Denmark in division 2, Robert Kakeeto played full time as his Jammerbugt side defeated Dalum 2-0 to consolidate top spot.

In Albania, Tonny Mawejje played full time and got booked in the 29th minute while Yunus Sentamu started and went off in the 52nd minute for Ngoo as their KF Tirana side lost 0-1 against Partizan Tirana in the Tirana derby.

In Greece, left back Alex Kakuba was unused substitute as PAS Giannina side lost 2-1 away to Panathinaikos.

In Belarus, Luwagga Kizito was not in the 18 man squad as Bate Borisov defeated Dinamo Minsk 2-1.

In Croatia, Miya Faruku came on in the 46th minute for Marina as his HNK Gorica side lost at home 0-3 to giants Lokomotiva Zagreb.

In Egypt, Isaac Muleme featured for Haras El Hodood in their 1-1 away draw to ENPPI While Hassan Wasswa didn’t feature for El Geish in their 1-1 draw away to Al Masry.

In Austria in the Liga2, Edrisa Lubega came on in the 86th minute for two goal hero Pericep as his Reid SV side defeated Wiener Neustadt 0-3.

In South Africa, Allan Kateregga was not in the 18 man squad as his Cape Town City side defeated Super Sport United 1-4 on penalties following a barren stalemate in normal time to lift the lucrative MTN 8 Cup.

In Vietnam, Moses Oloya’s Hanoi were crowned champions after their 3-0 win over Can Tho. Oloya started and came off in the 90th minute for Truong Van Thai Quy.

Geofrey Baba Kizito was unused substitute as his Saigon side defeated his mother club Than Quang Nihn 1-2 away from home to survive relegation.

In USA in the MLS, Mike Azira’s Montreal Impact fell to Wayne Rooney’s DC United 5-0 away from home, Azira started before coming off for Vargas.

Still in USA in the USL, Henry Kalungi was not in the 18 man squad as his Charlotte Independence side drew 2-2 at home to Pittsburgh Riv while Zaake Luboyera started for Ottawa Furry and came off in the 71st minute for Sanon as they drew 0-0 at home to Bethlehem Steel.

In Sweden, lanky defender Ronald Mukiibi scored in the 13th minute for Ostersunds FK as they defeated Djurgarden 0-2 away from home. He also got booked in the 65th minute.

In the Swedish Suprettan, Ssali Abdul Lumala played 87minutes before going off for Winberg as his Varnamo side drew 0-0 at home to Eskilstuna.

In the Swedish Division one in the Norra group, Ivan Bukenya was not in the 18 man squad for Likonping City due to injury in their 1-1 draw away to Sandviken.

Allan Zizinga featured for Arameiska/Syrianska in their 3-1 win over Assyriska.

Martin Kayongo Mutumba was not in the 18 man team as his side Syrianska drew 2-2 at home to Nykoping.

In Morocco, Milton Karisa featured for his Mouloudia Club Oujda in their 0-0 home draw to Olympic Safi.

In England in the National league, IBRA Sekajja played full time as his Havant and Waterlooville side lost 0-1 at home to Solihull Moors.

In the English League 2, Bevis Mugabi was unused substitute as his Yeovil Town side lost 3-1 away to Crawley Town.

In Tanzania, Emma Okwi featured while Murushid didn’t as Simba drew 0-0 at home to Young Africans.

Nicholas Wadada featured for Azam in their 0-0 home draw to Lipuli.

Shafiq Batambuze didn’t play for Singida United in their 1-0 win over Lipuli.
