Ugandan players Ivan Ntege and Lawrence Ndugga started for the Botswana foreigner’s XI in a build up game against the Botswana national side on Wednesday which ended 3-2 in favour of the Botswana national team.
The foreigner’s team was selected by the Botswana Football Association basing on the their performance in the league previously to test their national side ahead of their AFCON 2019 qualification match against Angola this weekend.
The foreigner’s team was compromised of player’s from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Cameroon, and Uganda.
Ndugga who has been in sublime form since the Botswana Premier League season 2018/19 started turns out for current table leaders Shooting Stars while Ivan Ntege turns out for reigning champions Township Rollers.
The two Ugandan players will come face to face on the 15th September when Township Rollers plays Shooting Stars in the Botswana Premier League.
Alfred Leku and Deus Bukenya and Francis Olaki are other Ugandans who ply their trade in Botswana for Galaxy FC, Police FC and Extension Gunners respectively.
