AUPL: Make or break as KCCA FC visits Senkatuka’s Bright Stars with hopes of keeping title chase alive

Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club will this evening make a trip to the Champions stadium in Matugga, Mwelerwe to tussle it out with home side Bright Stars FC in a must win encounter if they are to keep their title chase hopes alive.

Fresh from recording a historic home 2-0 win against Africa’s most decorated side Al Ahly, in Bright Stars the City lads face a tough test.

KCCA FC will be with out three key players in Allan Okello, Julius Poloto and Mustafa Kiiza who are with the Hippos and this will without a doubt affect them against Fred Kajjoba’s side.

The other interesting highlight of the game will be between Bright Stars skipper Nelson Senkatuka and Muhammad Shaban who are both fighting for the golden boot with Nelson on 15 goals and Shaban on 13 goals.

The last time both sides met in the first round at the Star Times stadium in Lugogo did witness a barren stalemate in a match Bright Stars veteran custodian Hamza Muwonge denied KCCA FC a win with a number of world class saves.

Currently KCCA FC sits in second position on the log with 54 points from 27 games one game less than leaders Vipers who have 59 points while Bright Stars are in 6th position with 38 points from 28 games one game less than 5th place Kirinya Jinja SS who have 40 points.
