UPDF FC relegation survival chances have heavily been dented following a petition from Bul FC against them for fielding an ineligible player, Sulaiman majanjaro in their AUPL game, match day 26 at Bombo Barracks grounds. Majanjaro was sent off against KCCA FC on match day 24 and was supposed to miss the subsquent two physically played games as per the rules but inexplicably appeared against BUL after missing only one game against Express FC, in clear violation of the rules that guide suspended players. This particular match ended 1-0 in favour of the army side.
In an exclusive interview with Bigwhale sports, UPL secretary Bernard Bainemani confirmed news of the petition reaching their desk.
It’s true Bul FC sent in a petition against UPDF FC for fielding Sulaiman Majanjaro which we recieved and we have forwaded the matter to the discplinary panel.
According to the rules, UPDF is supposed to lose 3 points from that very match Majanjaro ineligibly features and if as expected the panel throws the book at them, it will be a serious dent to to thier survival hopes.
A close source in the UPDF FC camp told Bigwhale sports that the club top dogs are understandably furiously with technical team for such a major mess up that will see the team slide back in the red zone of the table after an impressive fight to climb off the foot of the standings.
As usual we shall keep you posted on any development about this story.
