Pepsi UFL 2018: Defending Champions UMU thrash BSU in opener to send warning to rivals

2017 University football league defending champions Uganda Martyrs University opened their title defence campaign in high gear thrashing Bishop Stuart University 5-0 in the opening match of the 7th edition played at Nkozi grounds on wednesday evening.

The hosts put up a great show in the first half which they ended with a 3-0 lead thanks to debutant Derrick Mudaali’s and Jamir Mvule’s double strikes.

In the second half, the hosts returned with high morale with constant attacks that finally paid off with two more goals from Derrick Mudaali to seal his brace and Tarvan Kyeyune to make it 5-0.

UMU are in group D along BSU, IUIU and KIU.

Tomorrow (Thursday) IUIU will host KIU at IUIU Mbale grounds to complete match day one in group D.
