Gone are the days when majority of football players in Uganda trekked or relied at the mercy of the team bus for transport to the training grounds. The lavish life style that the sport is known to attract had long been a dream in Uganda and Africa at large. Luckily today, because of the high commercialization of the sport world wide, Africa and Uganda in particular is beginning to benefit from the trickle down effects. We might not be there yet, we might still be facing challenges, but as a matter of fact, the industry has grown commercially over the years and can get two educated people arguing all day on whether the industry can now compete as a viable employer of choice and still not reach a conclusion. To put this into perspective, Bigwhale sports team noted and observed that a number of the players especially in the Azam Uganda premier league cruise when going for training and other outings.
